In our quest to power global development, we endeavor to provide every human being with unfettered access to electricity and clean water in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

To achieve this goal, we must move beyond an economic and industrial infrastructure heavily dependent on fossil fuels. We must also overcome the significant technological, financial and regulatory challenges that inhibit the adoption of renewable energy resources on a utility scale. We cannot rely on market intervention mechanisms alone to bring about the deployment of renewable energy technologies.

Today, we face a watershed moment in the history of the energy industry. To meet the growing demand for electricity and clean water, the world must transition to a multi-sourced global energy infrastructure. This transition will require more than disruptive new energy technologies; the energy industry is not known for embracing radical change. It will also require game-changing evolutionary technologies such as hybrid generation in which state-of-the-art renewable energy technologies are integrated into conventional fossil fuel plant designs. Hybrid generation will ensure that renewable energy technologies are commercially competitive by deploying them as a complement to existing fossil fuel plants, rather than an outright substitute.

At QGEN we design, develop, finance, own and operate utility-scale and distributed hybrid power generation and water desalination plants. Our unique plant configurations leverage the shared infrastructure of conventional fossil fuel and renewable energy plants and improve the cost competitiveness of electricity generated from renewable energy resources – without relying on government subsidies or incentives.

At QGEN we are spearheading the transition to a multi-sourced global energy infrastructure.
